Blog #2 Elections Matter

 This past project was very enriching and interesting to put together. Reading and researching about not only our country but the whole world and how they see these 4 topics was really eye opening. My group, group 4, did our project on gender equality. We all took our time putting together this project and tried our best to do this sensitive topic justice. We went through multiple sources to fact check our points and tried to reach a neutral ground. On the day of presentation, we had our hiccups and missed a couple of our group mates but pushed through the presentation. 

Group 3 followed in presentations and had a wonderful PowerPoint on education policies. They explained these policies in history with clear bullets and detailed the views of the current presidential candidates. I think group 3 did a wonderful job of highlighting issues globally as well as here in the United States. Each group member room their time presenting their sections and clearly put effort in researching their topic. 

Group 2 did their project on the Electoral process. This project was especially important as it educated the rest of the class on a topic that would help us better understand the 2024 presidential elections. Their presentation was informative and went over the “what-if’s” which answers questions one may have. They went over elections at each governmental level and explained the importance of voting. 

Group 1 was the final group to present and did their project on immigration policies. A huge topic of conversation lately and this group did a wonderful job at putting together a presentation that effectively introduces you to immigration policies with little to no bias. They kept to the facts and researched past presidential policies as well as the policies around the world. Each group member presented their parts wonderfully and kept us involved in their presentation with videos and visuals.

Raismary Bueno-Lebron - Blog #1

     The first assignment for our class was to read and discuss chapters from Public Speaking: The Evolving Art. Each group was given the responsibility of analyzing particular chapters, figuring out important public speaking ideas, and producing captivating presentations to impart these ideas to the class. Through the use of illustrations, examples, and interactive components, each group made the content interesting and approachable.
